In the summer of 2005, I had the privilege of being invited to a concert. This was no ordinary concert, though, this was the Watoto Children's Choir from Uganda.

If you're not familiar with the kids of Watoto, once you see them and learn of their story, you'll be hooked! I know I am. Most of these kids have lost either one or both parents to the AIDS epidemic in their country. Until you've walked in their shoes, you can't even image what they've been through.

Their smiles and beaming eyes will just melt your heart. I know they did mine. They are so happy and full of joy, you can't even imagine. I bought their CD, which I now run to on my iPod. I wear a necklace handmade by one of the girls, as a reminder of that concert and to never forget who they are, how I can help and how thankful I am and what is really important in life.
