What does football have to do with it?

Not exactly football, but if you've ever heard of Vince Lombardi, he was one of the greatest football coaches of all time. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he led the Green Bay Packers on to victory for 9 winning seasons from 1958 to 1967.

He was an amazing leader and his legacy will endure for lifetimes to come. We could all learn some lessons from Mr. Lombardi to apply to our business and our personal lives. Here's what he said about:

Commitment: "Winning is not a sometime thing, it's an all time thing. You don't win once in a while, you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time."

Truth: "Truth is knowing that your character is shaped by your every day choices."

Excellence: "Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence. The spirit, the will to excel, the will to win, these are the things that will endure."

Results: "Winning is not everything, but making the effort to win is."

Passion: "There's only one way to suceed in anything and that is to give it everything."

Habit: "The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will."

Mental Toughness: "If you're lucky enough to find a guy with a lot of head and a lot of heart, he's never going to come off the field second."

Discipline: "The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have."
