Family Dynamics Ministry
Family Dynamics Ministry is a Christian drama group that performs family-related skits for churches. Their web presence consisted of ONLY an outdated, static website of just a few pages. Much to our surprise, there was no use of any social media.
They needed a fresh, complete design makeover and to be brought up to speed with Facebook, Twitter and especially YouTube to attract and connect with their audience.
Here’s What We Did:
Website: We completely redesigned the website, including their logo, and moved from static pages to WordPress. The site was stale and reminded us of the late 1990′s. We brought it up to date with a clean and warm palette, highlighting their vocal and drama talents and emphasizing the persona of each family member.
The ministry is using Constant Contact for their newsletter list and already has a nice subscriber base of over 300 churches and pastors. The previous site did not have a signup form, so we incorporated the Constant Contact signup form on their website and on Facebook for more places to capture prospective subscribers.
The ministry director now has an integrated blog and will be able to post updates of ministry happenings by telling the unique stories and experiences of each family member.
People like to connect with real people, so we created a fun “About Us” page that shares some fun details of interest for each family member, such as favorite ice cream, place to visit, last book read, etc.
*Note: Family Dynamics Ministry is currently in hiatus from performing, which explains why their website is not accessible.
Social Media: We created a Facebook, Twitter and YouTube presence, bringing the elements of the site design to their social media locations on the web. We created a custom Facebook Welcome page, incorporating their brand new YouTube video that we created just for them.
We integrated blog posts from the main site that will post to their fan page and Twitter for convenience and to save time.
Video: Before, they had just a single voice demo for their prospective audience to listen to. While the audio clarity good, a single audio was definitely not enough to demonstrate their talents.
We created the video (you see below) showcasing the vocal and theater talents of the group. We incorporated still photos and video clips from a recent performance as well as the vocal talents of Bruce Reagan, the ministry director.
With the video on the homepage of their website, it immediate captures the attention of their visitors, and using it on YouTube creates the launch video for their channel.
UPDATE: Since we created this project for Family Dynamics Ministry in 2010, they have discontinued the ministry.
