Success Tools You’ll Love

From time to time we review various resources that we have found not only helpful, but essential to use.

A Quick and Easy Way to Boost Your Conversions

What makes a website ‘visitor’ become a ‘customer’?

When someone lands on your site there are several factors affecting their decision; the headline, the design, the copy and the price are perhaps the most obvious.

But there’s another super-important factor…

…the ‘call to action’

You know, the thing that actually ‘asks for the sale’; the button they need to actually *click* to take the desired action.

Sure, it might seem an innocuous little graphic but it actually has a huge responsibility in the chain of events leading up to a sale, and it’s important that this ‘link’ in the chain is as strong as possible.

Save 10% When You Moo

Save 10% at Moo.com

No, not like a cow, silly! I partnered with Moo.com to personally offer you a 10% savings off your first order.

Quick disclaimer: I never review or recommend products I haven’t personally used or currently use in my business.

That being said, if you haven’t heard of Moo, they are definitely worth checking out for quality business cards, post cards, stickers and more.

I’ve used several different companies over the years, including Vista Print and Paper Direct for business cards and while they do have quality products for some things, In my opinion, Moo tops them all for business cards and stickers.

The Easiest Way to Organize Your Contacts

ContactMe Contact Management for Small Businesses

ContactMe Contact Management for Small Businesses

Twice a month, we’ll be featuring a success tool or resource we personally use in our business that may also help you.

One of the biggest challenges for small businesses (us included!) is finding a simple, yet full-featured contact management system.

I can’t begin to tell you how many different systems we’ve demo’d over the last couple of years.

The Criteria

For us, we had several core criteria and must-have features that had to be met. It needed to be:

How Much for that Video?

A colleague of mine recently told me the story of how he contacted a company to create a video for his new product and it was going to cost him… (are you sitting down?)

It was going to cost him nearly $25,000 per minute. Yikes! That might be in the budget for big businesses in NYC, Chicago or LA, but most small business owners I know don’t have that kind of money.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Why Do Kids Get all the Fun Colors?

No sooner than the clock strikes midnight on July 5th, retailers have shelves of fully-stocked school supplies.

That’s just wrong (for more than one reason!), yet it really got me thinking about color differences between kids and adults.

Here’s what I mean.Colorful mini moo business cards

Bland is Out – Color is In

I recently ordered these fun, colorful mini cards.

Aren’t they great? They match our rotating banners at the top of our site.

How Do You Plan Your Events?

Online Registration with Eventbrite Makes it Easy

This week’s featured resource is Eventbrite, an online service that helps make registration easy for your events.

We’ve been using Eventbrite since March of 2009 and it has a lot of great features that we love and a feature that could use improvement.

All in all, however, we have found it to be very user-friendly.

Here’s What We Love

1. No monthly or ongoing fees. You only pay a small percentage of your ticket price to Eventbrite IF you charge money for your events.
